OLP 1:1 Optical Line Protection Switch for FMT Managed Chassis (FMT-OLP)

Brand:
OLP

Specifications

   Product details:
  • 1 Year Warranty
  • Brand: OLP
  • Model: FMT-OLP
   Overview:
  • OLP (Optical Line Protection) is a device used in pairs, one at each end of the optical signal to protect the network transmission line. It can realize optical power monitoring and automatic switching. In optical communication networks, OLP monitors the optical power of optical fiber and standby optical fiber in real time. In case the current optical power of the optical fiber is less than pre-set switching threshold value, then alarm is on and it would switch to standby optical fiber automatically to protect the optical transmission system line. OLP system will provide a more reliable, flexible and high secure optical transmission network, which is widely used for protecting backbone and important business line.
  • The OLP can be used with FMT series products, which provides cost-effective and flexible WDM solutions. It has a variety of optical layer boards and provides excellent optical performance, and can be applied to DWDM dual-fiber/DWDM single-fiber/optical cable monitoring systems, to meet the diverse needs of scenarios.
   Specifications:
  • Operating Wavelengths: The module supports two key operating wavelengths: 1310±50nm and 1550±50nm, common for optical communication systems.
  • Monitoring Power Range: The module can monitor optical power within a range of -50 dBm to +23 dBm, allowing it to measure both low and high power signals.
  • Protected Mode: The system is configured for 1:1 protection, meaning it provides redundancy for critical communication, switching between two paths if necessary to ensure no loss of signal.
  • Fiber Type: SMF (Single-Mode Fiber), which is typically used for long-distance transmission due to low attenuation.
  • Switching Speed: The switching speed is less than 35 ms, indicating how quickly the system can respond to changes or issues in the network.
  • Crosstalk: =55 dB, meaning the signal interference between channels is very low, maintaining signal integrity.
  • Insertion Loss: The insertion loss is <1.2 dB for transmission (Tx) and <1 dB for reception (Rx), which measures the loss of signal strength when the signal passes through the module.
  • Return Loss: =55 dB, indicating minimal reflection of the signal back into the system, which is important for maintaining quality.
  • Monitoring Power Resolution: 0.01 dB resolution, providing precise measurements of the optical power.
  • Monitoring Power Accuracy: +0.25 dB, which indicates the accuracy of the power measurements.
  • PDL (Polarization Dependent Loss): =0.05 dB, a measure of how the fiber optic system performs under varying polarization states of the light signal.
  • WDL (Wavelength Dependent Loss): =0.1 dB, indicating minimal loss variation across different wavelengths.
  • Connectors: LC/UPC connectors, which are a standard for fiber optic cables, providing reliable connectivity.
  • Housing: The module is a pluggable module that occupies one slot in a FMT chassis. This indicates flexibility for expansion and replacement.
  • Chassis Types: The system supports 1U, 2U, 4U chassis, which refers to the size of the rack-mounted unit.
  • Management: The module supports SNMPv1 (Simple Network Management Protocol version 1) for network management, along with monitoring online and simple management tools for easier management.
  • Maximum Optical Power Load: 300 mW, the maximum optical power the module can safely handle.
  • MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures): >100,000 hours, indicating a high reliability and expected longevity of the product.
  • Operating Humidity: 5% ~95% non-condensing, meaning the system can function in a wide range of environmental conditions without risk of moisture damage.
   Temperature:
  • Operating Temperature: -10°C to 50°C (14°F to 122°F).
  • Storage Temperature: -40°C to 80°C (-40°F to 176°F), allowing the module to be safely stored and used in various temperature conditions.
   Features:
  • Support Dual Fiber Bidirectional Protection Mode
  • Automatic Switch <35ms Ensures Fast Recovery
  • Independent of Data Rate, Format and Wavelength
  • Real-time Monitoring of Standby Optical Power
  • Highly Integrated Plug-in Design Saves Cabinet Space
