The Cisco GLC-BX40-U-I= is a high-performance 1000BASE-BX bidirectional (BiDi) SFP transceiver designed for long-distance Gigabit Ethernet connectivity over single-mode fiber using a single strand. Ideal for enterprise, service provider, and industrial networks, this module supports reliable data transmission up to 40 km, helping reduce fiber infrastructure costs. Operating with 1310 nm transmit and 1550 nm receive wavelengths, the GLC-BX40-U-I= must be paired with a compatible BX40-D module at the opposite end. It is hot-swappable, Cisco-certified, and built to deliver stable performance in demanding network environments.
